Clike ("Clike", "we", "the app") is a bilingual social network built in Canada. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and how you can control or delete it. By using Clike, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Account information
When you create a Clike account, we collect your first name, last name, username (public handle) and email address. Your email is used for login, anti-bot verification, notifications and password recovery. You can add a profile photo, banner, bio, city and province. City and province are optional and used to show local content.
2. Content you publish
Content you publish on Clike — posts, photos, videos, Clips, Moments, comments and private messages — is stored on Clike's servers and shown according to the visibility you choose (public, friends, close friends or only me). You control who can view, reshare or download your content from your privacy settings. Moments are ephemeral but can be kept in your archive. Private messages are only visible to conversation participants.
3. Data needed to operate
To operate, Clike keeps certain technical data: your session identifier, your preferences (language, theme, preferred feed, Clip reminders), your relationships (friends, followers, blocks, close friends), your interactions (reactions, saves, collections), your reports and moderation history. This data is needed to show your feed, your notifications and for community safety.
4. Media storage and processing
Your photos, videos and Clips are uploaded to a media hosting service that encodes, resizes and serves them efficiently (WebP for images, adaptive streaming for videos). Media is stored as long as your account is active or the content is not deleted. Ephemeral Moments are automatically deleted at expiry, unless you added them to your archive. Auto-generated subtitles for your Clips are stored with the video.
5. Third-party services and AI
Clike uses third-party services for certain functions: an email delivery service, an anti-bot verification service (Cloudflare Turnstile), a media hosting service, an audio transcription service for subtitles, an automatic translation service and an AI-assisted moderation service. For Clip music, Clike uses Epidemic Sound: an anonymized identifier (not your email) is sent to Epidemic for usage attribution, per their license. Clike never sells your data to third parties.
6. Security measures
Clike applies technical and organizational security measures: encryption in transit (HTTPS), token-based authentication, role-based access control (admins, moderators), per-user data access restrictions (other users only see what your visibility allows), and third-party API keys kept server-side only. Automatic moderation analyzes text and images before publishing. Despite these measures, no transmission or storage method is fully secure; we strive to protect your data with industry standards.
7. Data retention period
We keep your data as long as your account is active. Ephemeral Moments are automatically deleted at expiry (unless archived). Content you delete is removed from display immediately and erased from servers within a reasonable time. Moderation and report data may be kept longer for legal, safety or abuse-prevention reasons. When you delete your account, your data is erased within a reasonable time, subject to legal retention obligations.
8. Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete my account. Deletion is irreversible: your profile, posts, photos, videos, Clips, Moments, comments, friendships and preferences are erased. Your private messages are removed from display; copies held by other conversation participants may remain in their own account. To request full erasure of your data or exercise a right of access, correction or objection, contact Clike (see contact details below).

This policy is provided for information and may be updated. In case of a material change, Clike will inform you in the app. The current version is always the one published at this address.
